FOREIGN DELEGATES CALL ON CJP

ISLAMABAD:Different foreign delegates from Iran, Afghanistan, Bhuttan, U.K. India and Libya participating in International Judicial Conference 2013 called on the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry today i.e. 20.04.2013 in his Chambers during the second day of Conference in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad today i.e. 20.4.2013
The delegation of Iran was headed by Hojjatoleslam Wal Muslemeen Murtazavi Moghaddam, First Deputy of the Attorney General of Iran, comprising on H.E. Dr. Hossein Zebahi, Deputy Judicial to Attorney General of Iran and H.E. Mr. Mohammad Reza Sarmi, Member of the Supreme Court of Iran, delegation of Afghanistan comprised on Hon’ble Mr. Justice Abdul Salam Azimi, Chief Justice of Afghanistan, delegation of Bhuttan comprised on Hon’ble Mr. Justice Tshering Namgyel, Justice, High Court, Thimphu, Bhutan, delegation of India comprised on Hon’ble Mr. Justice Madan Bhimarao Lokur, Judge Supreme Court of India, delegation of Libya headed by Professor/Chancellor Al-Magtoof Baleed Ashkal, Head of Examination of the Criminal Appeals Committee, Libya and comprising on Professor/Chancellor Ismail Alsgifee, Member Cassation Prosecution, Professor/Chancellor Abdulmonem Jabar Al-Trablsee, Member of the First Criminal Committee, Libya and delegation of U.K. Ms. Daisy Organ, Head of the Child Abduction Section at the FCO and comprising on Ms. Alison Shalaby, Chief Administrative/Acting Director of Reunite International Abduction Centre, U.K. and Ms. Sandra Fenn, Consultant, U.K.
During the meeting the delegations thanked the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan, congratulated on the arrangements of International Judicial Conference 2013 and praised his lordships hospitality. They informed the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan that the exchange of knowledge is essential for judiciaries of countries and said that the International Judicial Conference is a useful activity to exchange knowledge and experience. The judiciaries of different countries can get benefits from experiences and wisdom of each other through such judicial events.
The Hon’ble Chief Justice extended his thanks and gratitude to the delegates for participating in the Judicial Conference which is arranged with view that this will greatly help in formulating innovative strategies for reforming judicial system in the country and making it responsive to the present-day requirements of the society. The objective of holding International Judicial Conference is to provide a forum for interaction to the international and national luminaries of law to devise ways and means for improving the administration of justice which is a corner stone of civilized and democratic society. It will further enhance the cooperation amongst the judiciaries of the countries. The Hon’ble Chief Justice also presented shields and gifts to the delegates as a token of respect and gesture of goodwill.
